Head swirling
salt water burning my eyes
sinking to the bottom
arms and legs like lead

I am silently screaming
mute, all to no avail
I feel out of control...
Breathless
Frantically gulping for air

My brain tells me to fight
but my body immobilized
Sending out flares
any hope of rescue.

I panic for a moment,
As I float away in his gentle waters,
we were separate,
I guess I forgot how to survive.
