Throw up your marble
Your graven stone
Hammer that metal into its place
But wind will still return your statue into dust
Time will lose the memory of your grave
Metal will rot as all things do
Into the ash of a plant that will cease rotating
Around a star that will one day explode
But today is for the living
And until the sun no longer shines
I will make its light count for those
Who are alive
