Communion

She spilled lengthy prose,

believing words would

bandage her inadequacies.

 

Enrapt,

I tussled

loose threads

of her rhetoric

in a feeble attempt at intimacy–

 

not realizing

Andromeda would love anyone

who had pried her free from the rock.
