By Mauve Marini

Standing on a cliff is no easy
Heart’s pounding, knees are shaking
Possibilities of getting hurt never gone
I wanted to escape but foot’s rooted on the ground

I cried and screamed for help
“No One” listened
I told everyone I’m tired
“No One” believes

Then you came,
Saying “No One” is your name
That if only you could,
You will give me the world

You offered your hand to me
Saying “Hold on to it whenever you’re ready,”
Glimpse of hope
Is all I ought

The smile carve in your lips
Made me take the step
And held your hand
And love blooms as if struck by a magic wand
Love, Marini
