They say words are expressive
But what are words when filled with lies? Meaningless.
You can never fully trust words
But hands,
They are the epitome of body language.
They reflect every single emotion we hold and try to hide.
When we love, my hands they come to find yours,
Like a child missing it’s mother.
When they do,
These hands come touching your face, eyes, mouth and body.
Holding you close, they express purity.
When excitment comes, your hands jumps all over the place,
It’s like they’re shouting “Look at how happy I am”.
I dread the moments you’re anxious,
I feel it coming, I feel it without you uttering a single word
Because you see, your hands they feel lost, nowhere to go, so they fumble,
fidget,
fingers parading,
fists clenching.
When all is too much,
Your hands grab onto something giving them the illusion of stabilty, feeling grounded, when everything else seems unstable.
And so don’t you dare tell me words are expressive when hands speak before we do,
When I have known anger, love, happiness and passion through my hands,
And watching yours giving me these same emotions.
