That night
It was cold, oh so cold
The wind bit us, and tossed us about
We wandered from house to house,
singing the songs we knew as children

You were there with me, close to me
and the time I remember was close at hand
But the memories whisper lies
For you weren't with me, though we held hands
Your hand was cold, oh so cold
and I remember being happy
But I wasn't happy
The memories lie

I lost my heart that night
But reliving it does not recapture my heart
Only lose it all over again
I'd do anything to return
I'd do anything to forget
That night
