raggaton I don't understand; I only want to see her whale tail as a prelude to romantic evenings spent rocking on the porch nodding off to the sun setting & the cold moon rising to meet the cold stars; heavy metal I don't understand why you must smash mirrors on the roof when there's a good hard pavement below; the girls want to eat from the food truck where the food is unrecognizably psychedelic; I couldn't put a woman in my mouth who'd eat such things; but I'll put her in my pocket & walk away & sell her in the back of the schoolyard; make-out music I don't under- stand when the girl puts her many arms around me & squeezes; O why did I fall in love w/ a squid; classical music I don't understand; Mozart was a gambler & a drunk, Beethoven was just ****** all the time yet they coaxed & forced sounds from the crude medieval harpsichord & dulcimer & what would they have done with Moogs if they had had them; Wagner w/ a wah-wah pedal would have changed the world into a dance party & the new world would have been a place where people came to dance their ***** off; Indians on drums; African harmony & Greek chorus call & response; howling at the high moon we would be Americans & our skins painted the color of sin & redeemed in Wichetaw where the ghosts of the 7th Calvary rise out of the greasy grass to greet us & we dance w/ the spirits of Indian maidens who look for all the world like the glade nymphs of home shouting a bluesy rock and roll I can at last understand
