There was a time when everything felt right and looked so good. A time when life was never so much in a hurry that only the one seeing it through their own eyes, knew what it felt like to experience that peace of mind you get when your walking down the street and everyone smiles and says good morning, good afternoon or even good evening. One could only feel pride to be recognized with respect to each other as you passed by a familiar or even unfamiliar face.
What happened to those days when life was about "us" and you weren't always thinking about just yourself. People cared about each other and made it clear they weren't having no disrespect for the local hobos and attackers who would try to disarray their communities. They'd come together, united as one and create a space in their hearts that was super strong and could no one tare that apart. Babysitters for both young and old, took care of each other and when it was time to pass away....family made time for you, no matter what time of the day.
Now a days, this new generation is all to quick to tell you about their troubles and horrors of the newest clicques. Never stopping by to say hello and how do you feel but trying to turn your energy into spent oil spills. Laying down the laws of what gets under their skin and showing no mercy for the elders behind the wheels.
I heard the prayers of those who are ready to pass... "Please Lord, take me now and take me fast..just dont make the misery of this selfish world, last."
What an honor it was to watch with care, the newborn babies i took care of and washed their hair.
So when the day comes and the lights in my eyes begin to fade, let it be known to all that this lady was a hard worker and gave all she had to care for those who claimed they cared and in the hopes one day that someone will be there.
