A smile stretches your lips
You look at me with sad eyes
Your hands are wrapped with bandage your mother keeps
You have been stabbed over and over with lies

"What is love?" you ask
I smile and say
"Love is seeing through your mask,"
"Love is giving you everything, you don't have to pay."

Love is when you're happy, or excited, or cheerful, I love you.
Love is when you're scared, or sad, or mad, I love you.
Love is when you're empty, and lifeless, and bored, I love you.
Love is even when the world is against you, I'll stay by your side, I love you.
