A deafening roar swirled in the air.
A cloud of black smoke hanging where
fear and despair drowned
against a vile, contemptible act.
The cruel pellets swept over them like hail
Savage, bitter, broken.

The dead moved in sorrowful silence,
the last trace of their labour gone.
The solemn booming of victory
lost in sacred soil.
Destroyed.
