The star’s last breath is
Everything of consequence, it’s
The matter man scattered
Into leaflets of title
And the flowers along the drive
My car idles and
The sun shakes in the rear view mirror
Every step the discarded symphony
That keeps time with her
The cancer is God and he grows nearer
My heart
