The angels never arrived
as I look into your eyes, I can see the pain you have
the longing to just move on from this place.
We both need someone to carry us home
to turn off the lights when we cant bear to get up.
You need someone to take you away from here
but we both know that cant be me.
I have been the only one you have ever opened up to
and that has crippled us.
I have been holding the weight of your pain on my shoulders for so long that am falling.
I’m falling faster than I ever thought I could
and you can catch me this time.
The angels never arrived
and now we are both lost.
