I saw the sun’s light stream
From this point on the world’s face,
I hear the earth’s tender dream.

I placed my fingers on the seam
That stretched down my dress’s lace.
I saw the sun’s light stream.

I savored the curls of whipped cream
From lunch near the cypress’s base,
I hear the earth’s tender dream.

My face tilts towards the gleam
Of the water’s glittering grace.
I saw the sun’s light stream.

Now I’m sensing a theme
In this eternal, undisturbed place,
I hear the earth’s dream.

This is just the world’s scheme
To escort us to the better place.
I saw the sun’s light stream,
I hear the earth’s tender dream.
