Scarlett's Letter

Maybe it was the look in your eye, Or the sweat on your brow, Or the light that shined through the trees, That made me fall for your enchanting smile. Maybe it was not you, but I That ended our prowl, We knew this love, we could not keep. It was only perfect for a while. Maybe it was not the time, Or due to the growing crowd, That ruined our lover's dream, When we parted ways down the isle. Maybe it was our different lives That made it not allowed. Or the internal screams To now force us into denial.
