I.
I never did understand
   The race to the finish
After all
We’re all too small in the
       end

II.
I hang
  Floating
Like a mylar balloon
   Pressed to the ceiling
Deflating
For want of sky.

III.
The way to my heart
Is through my head
Since my brain
   Thinks
It’s in control.

IV.
Like an unfinished sentence
  We are all
