Look at the cat resting on the roof of my garden shed,
Alert but at peace,
Never moving but always on the prowl,
As heavy as a leaf that gently blows along the breeze,
The mercy of nature brings me crashing to my knees,
Begging please.

He sees a bird, this gentle cat,
And follows closely with his eyes,
Then pounces and achieves the falcons demise,
His next meal is secured,
And happily he can rest again - alert and at peace,
All at once his future is assured,
And he bows his head to Mother Nature for the blessings of her creation.
