The beast of night falls around me like a cloak,
It smothers me,
It covers me,
Surrounding me,
Dumbfounding me.

I sit alone and afraid,
I do not dare to move,
Any little motion,
Might give him the notion,
That i am in the frame of mind,
To be truly unkind,
And he'll strike.
