Dec 2017
I know a woman who has been abused
Are we shocked that her boyfriend stands accused
Or do we turn our heads and look away
After all tomorrow is a new and better day
What happens if the problem keeps getting worse
Should we kneel and pray or stand and curse
Who holds the scales of justice
If she falls
Someone here or someone
Who hides behind walls
They hide so they don't
Ever have to see
Bruised emotions
Stain all that could be
This stain runs red
The color of blood
And it runs deeper
Than any other flood
