"It'll be okay,"
They say,
As they leave you,
As they walk away.

So I smile.
My lips raise,
My teeth show,
"I'll be okay."

But the mouth can tell lies,
Not just by words,
But by action,
By faking smiles.

They all look,
They all see,
My upturned lips,
They see I'm happy.

But never once
Did they think,
That I could get by
On faking smiles.
