I live in the city
Where its hard to see the stars
City lights are always so harsh

To see a star in the city is rare
As the city has its own stars
We have no need to look up much

From my spot on the busy sidewalk
The star looked so quiet, so sincere
So unlike the human who gazed at the star

The city continued to move
As one of its people, slowed down
And looked up into the night sky

But alas, a city is always moving
And as I marveled in the beauty of the lone star
Bright against the harshness of the city lights

I walked into a pole
