Queer (poem for trans remembrance day)
"queer"
shouted and sneered, marginalizing me
thrown at me in a blanket of oppression
you never handed me these phrases
the cold, wet cloth slows me down
i ring out the rags of hatred and ignorance
you so rudely forced upon me
i dried the cloth before it became
moldy and unusable
i have this now,
this is mine
i am queer
