Train Station
So come over,
I’ll make coffee
we can talk about the
way things used to be.
We’ll watch movies,
fall asleep on the couch
but
the blankets won’t cover our
feet.
And would you mind if I
kissed you on the lips
and said,
“have mercy”?
Or would you scold me,
for my stinky breath and
forgetting to brush
my teeth?
And in the morning,
I’ll take you out to
breakfast at a local
restaurant.
Don’t be offended
if the waitress calls you
“short stack.”
She calls everyone that,
regardless of their height
she’s getting pretty old,
but she gets the orders right.
So stay a while,
Stay a while.
Stay a while?
