You take my breath away
Like the half baked cliche
That drains the originality
From my writing.

You take my breath away
Like the kids in the playground
Who have fun holding their breath
For as long as possible.

You take my breath away
Like the water that fills the lungs
Of the 67th person named Bob Smith
Who is currently drowning under a cruise ship.

You take my breath away
With your charming smile
And your knowing gaze

If attraction were as simple
As the atomic bonding
Between a proton and an electron.
