Mobile Jigsaws
It's curious to think
our individual body parts
do very little
to tell our stories
or reveal our identities.
But when added
together and contextualized,
we comprehend more
than words can bear.
I wonder how many
pieces it takes
to recognize
a puzzle as such
and for fragments to
heed deeper meaning.
I wonder at what point
the soul enters and attaches
itself -- and at what point
we dignify ourselves
as more than
mobile jigsaws.
