Once this girl, she had me
But then I called her bluff
I found she was double dealing
And lord declared enough
The balance did catch up now
Her man perused a thrill
She came to me for comfort
And you know she’s searching still

-Oh my lord
She’ll never find no comfort here
This little girl will have to linger
My pity train will steer clear

She cried to me in the morning
She begged me all through the day
She was on her knees by nightfall
Lord I’d have it no other way

-Aw yes
She’ll never find no comfort here
This little girl will have to linger
My pity train will steer clear

So then I sat her near me
I took her by the waist
I told her so very sweetly
That this was all a piece of fate

-Oh my lord
She’ll never find no comfort here
This little girl will have to linger
My pity train will steer clear
