they watched the sky’s children

over flashing threads of white

ravaged under frisky trees

ardor burned like anthracite

warlock thunder shook the ground

giggling rain did her ballet

one exquisite touch

they rose above the fray

they watched the sky’s children

over flashing threads of white

they exploded into stars

and travelled jealous night
