Love is like a flower
Delicate in its needs
Until its petals fall
Beautiful in its sight
Enough to stop passers-by
Love hurts like the seasons
Petals shedding and regrowing
Shedding hurts
Regrowth is beautiful
The flower never fully gone
The love stays
The people change
Until one day
Where the growth is to painful

Yet you’ve shown
Love as fire
Burning brighter than anyone
Shining harder than anything
Giving the soul much needed life
The heart its desperate rest
Days will come
That will diminish the flame
Small enough so one blow
One stomp and its gone
But your spark has so much energy
That it can consume other flames
Burning brighter than ever before
Shining harder than ever before
