CREATING CONSTELLATIONS

The star
lies at the bottom

of the stair
balancing itself against

precariously the last
step.

I pick it up
put it into the blue bucket

with the dancing yellow
rim around it.

It rests among
the rest of the stars.

They glow
greenly.

Tomorrow they will be
stuck to her ceiling

where under my
3 year's old instruction

we create her
very own constellations.
