Oct 2017
Eaten a poison apple
That grew from a great big tree
Its vines tangled around my body
Its roots chained me down

Every time I broke free
It swallowed me back up again
With greater force than the last
A never-ending cycle of prison

Bound to its trunk
Day and night
Feeling the poison run through my veins
There's nothing I can do about it

One day I'll be free
Join all the winsome smiles out there
But for now
I remain tied down
