Jul 2012
the night we slept together on the
cushions-of-the-couch-only
(as opposed to the week before
where the cushions
all-fell-off-the-couch)

and afterwards you grabbed my bra
and put it on
and then my *******
i laughed out loud for a split second
before grabbing your briefs

and you explained
particle physics
and tesseracts to me
and i was beyond astounded,
even when carl sagan told me later that night.

but i loved you so much
when your beard broke into a smile
because the summer when the girl
with the brightest smile died
was not my sorrow to bear.
