I am white.
Pale as the stars that keep me up,
As the daisies that thrive by my house.
In summer nothing changes.
No magical tan that changes you
From ordinary to beautiful,
Just
White.

My eyes are blue.
Dark as the ocean
I only see once a year,
As the alpine lakes
That surround me.

I am told I have a ring of fire
Surrounding my soul.
Blazing yellow
Against the pale blue.

They say that’s where my anger
Comes from,
My aggressive nature.
Contrast to that which
is calm and cool.

I am white.
Outside and in,
But if you look,
Specks of
Blue and yellow
Are within.
