Jun 2012
Like a caged bird
I stare out the window
Wishing for more
All I can do with this sore
Scratching the itch again and again
Infection seeps in and feeds
Off this soul that is no longer
Suffocating me
Struggling to breathe
Just wanting to be free
From this pain
All this negativity
It suffocates my brain
What once used to pleasure
Now a chore
Here with myself
Suffocating more
Or is it someone else's hands around my neck
Choking the life from this being
Breath after breath
My soul is gasping
Suffocating from the pain
Shallow breath and cold sweat
Fear no longer this death
Welcomed messenger
Bringing me news of salvation
