And so it was
That I found myself here
Head over heels
Caught up in feels
Bringing smiles back to the
Deep crevaces
Of my heart
Starving from criticism
And the sun's scorching glare
My heart and soul thirsted
For what you poured there

And I
Had been thirsty before
And drank from a well
filled with deception and more
It was gasoline on parched,
Naiively kept, land
He destroyed so much
With the touch of his hands

And I
Found desiring eyes
But still found no cure
I've found a lot of love
But it leaves me less secure
Till every new encounter
That refreshes the soul
Is tested against many measures
Lest anyone get hurt

Again and again I found myself there
And I learned more each time
Being the woman at the well
My lips no longer dry
With tears falling down
And my soul's thirst was quenched
When I was found,
By the God of Living water
So I would never thirst again
To live filled, and live loved
Filled with peace, in Him.
