Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but from words I run and hide.
microaggressions and slights felt,
In my safe space, I want to cry.

I stick my fingers in my ears,
and say la-la-la-la-la,
if I start to feel offense,
I can not see, through another's lens.

My opinions and ideas,
I cannot justify,
because it's right,
is always my reply.

I cannot tolerate anything,
outside of my beliefs,
if I don't agree with you,
I'm calling the ACLU.

Whining and crying,
my skin is so thin,
I am pure in heart and mind,
contrary to me is full of sin.
