Struggling in the darkness,
I crawl around the room,
a wall followed to a corner,
and trailed till fabric is felt.

Curtains were thrown open,
yet still encased in blackness,
I sink to the ground, defeated,
my hands closed on a rectangle.

In the darkness, a lighter found,
I light the blinds on fire, illumination comes in
as the house burns down,
and the sun sinks below the horizon.

Sitting amongst bits of glowing ember,
matching the stars sparkling in the sky,
I longed for light of the sun,
and it too was extinguished with tears.
