Cool rain drops on shadowy blacktop
Rippling puddles reflect grey skies
Pattering softly on slick tin roofs
Staring into melancholy eyes
Rain drips off leaves of jade
Running over aging bark
Rivulets running to the ground
Pooling without smart remark
Clouds of powder smoky grey
Pregnant with oncoming storm
Foaming ocean waves do fall
Crashing onto distant shores
Thunder rumbles, lightening strikes
Illuminating snowy peaks
Jagged mountains looming tall
Brushed with dark and dreary streaks
Arctic plains painted white
Drifts of frost and chunks of ice
Freezing glaciers plunder through
Into bedrock their masses slice
Past the ocean's slapping tides
Breaking crests against cliff walls
Over the edge it flies skyward
And into space it's time that falls.
