Here I lay
Skin on skin
Tracing my fingers over every inch of your body
Trying to memorize
Where your veins lie
Feeling for the blood pumping through your skin
As you breathe
Soft and still
My hands enjoy the pleasure of the atoms making up your flesh
Every time you leave
I fear it is for good
For nothing stays forever.
Not even the universe can outlive darkness and loneliness
