She carries me higher

Lifting me past the clouds

Beyond anywhere I've been before

Higher we fly as the moments pass

I gaze longingly

Watching her every move

Hopelessly waiting for recognition

For her to feel my presence

This blissful trip has taken us to a new place

Never ending abyss, filled with twinkling lights

Surrounded by stars I feel myself shrinking

Beauty casting shadows of doubt

She's finally home

Too big for the place we left behind

A place that had felt too big me

"Now departing all return falls"

Slowly reaching my hand out

To place it upon an angel's wings

But she's just out of reach as I begin to descend

Slowly returning to the taciturn world

Too recently I found myself absent from

I attempt to call out her name

But no words are released from my lips

An unfamiliar angel without a name

Without even a glimpse of her face

She never even knew I existed

So closely I followed, for so long

Finding myself left falling

No one around to catch me

Picking up speed at too quick a pace

Why people fear the fall

I never understood

A magically peaceful time

The weight lifted from the heart

Like a feather the soul softly flies

How this magnificent ride ends brings worry

For the fall may be sweet, sorrowful ecstasy

But the landing may shatter what remains of me
