A Promise Ring
I used to think a ring,
meant I could have you forever.
That I'd always be there,
in the front of your mind.
I used to think a ring,
came attached with a heart.
Just the way your's
came attached with mine.
But a ring doesn't mean very much.
You've made that unbearably clear.
I wish you'd give my heart back to me.
Since I've given your's back to you.
