I have had a love affair for eons of years with you, oh majestic city of the northeast!
I've renounced to serenity and peace in beautiful mountains, for sleepless nights with sirens and thieves. I've relinquished loyalty in green valleys, to get a glimpse of your nightline sky.
I've had a love affair with your city streets, as far back as the mind can remember… I've renamed each avenue with each potential love you bring. I have given up luxury for you, traveled the world looking for any city that resemble thee, longing only for your concrete jungle paved streets.
Finding solace in a small matchbox apartment in Loisaida, the Village, El Barrio or the Heights….is fine with me. Oh! the things I’ve done-to be with thee! I have given up warmer oceans for your city beat, to hear the sounds of drums in subway stations and break dancers challenging your pavements ……………………….the way you've challenged me.
Such a bad love affair. Such an intense love affair. Such an exciting love affair, yet, this is how you repay me? With your bitter cold winters engulfing my bones…..disabling me. I love you NEW YORK CITY Oh! Majestic City of the Northeast
