My Mum didn't know much about Mother's Day
Me neither back then
But the small flowering plants knew,
blooming and blossoming all the time
in the backyard, to please Mum

This was told by little puppy
He  wasn't sure when I asked him to
live with my sister after Mum was gone
Leaving home was hard but he had to
My sister loves him and he is happy now
No longer irritable at me when I visit
but looking at me, wanted to tell me more
about Mum and those flowers
