If things were different, if the world were perfect,
The obstacles between us would cease to keep us
Together and apart.

When galaxies merge, when dimensions converge
And every human need has been woven and stitched
with unwavering satisfaction.

When every intricate detail
and each contrasting complexity
is out, floating in the galaxy
for all to scrutinize.

When scrutiny is a foreign concept.
When loneliness is no more then a word.
When love conquers hatred.
When belonging is the norm.
When disorder finds peace.

When we realize that we all bleed the same blood.
When greed is dead and sleep is not the place where dreams come true.

If things were different, if the vines of mangled pasts were perfect,
The obstacles between us would cease to keep us
Together and apart.

If when this were to be, we knew how
