What can I do to make you stay
Not for long just for a short time
Just until I temporarily forget the sadness tonight
I'll drown in my sorrows to forget

This poison of a drink they call Alcohol
Some calls it an elixir, making the pain fade
The burning sensation that lines in my throat
As I drink it up straight, no chaser

The moments that is seeping in my mind
Remembering all of the history that we had
Past memories, still lingers, that makes me sad
The love that we shared now all gone

All the late night to early morning calls
Texting while in the same room, sitting together
Just a thought of you makes me smile
I can’t stop even if I want to

Now you’re with him, I’m still here standing
Waiting, hoping that you’ll come back to me
Wishing that I could have made it right
Wanting to go back to the time where
Your heart used to belong to me, only
