The smoke tainted my lungs
Hung, around my precious air it
swung
To erase
To escape
To forget that atrocious
MEMORY
remember, remember, remember...ing
The pattern of the stars, they were
Linger...ing
on our pupils
"Pupils", her thoughts... aloud
They interrupted out loud
Proud
Found.
I was never found under the smoke;
Praying to forget,
MEMORY
