His heart as bright as the rising sun,
smothering my mine with love.
Thick and warm like golden honey
he cradles me
with a power so strong,
could turn the darkest night to day.

Though he compares my eyes to stars,
I've never known of a star
lost so deeply,
drowning
in the depths of another.
My heart pounds alongside his
but a dreadful loneliness surrounds us two.

Such strong love to be struck down by a dark plague,
ripping the unsuspecting stars
from the comforting darkness of the night.
Thrown into the spotlight,
their glow is swallowed.

And they realize, that though they prayed for the sun to rise,
they mourn the darkness that allowed their love to appear so bright.
