Apr 2017
fear engraved into her eyes
glassy blue with shame
the screams kept, showed
fleeing soul, washed over with cold
her flee in the blanket of dark morning
nose dusted with freckles
her color faded to the absence
of everything and nothing
her minor escape
visions of perfection
reliance on a single moment
where inner restlessness subsided
lashes fluttered, stars twinkled
her longing to leave lingered
a cry for freedom
a suffering uncaused
damaged perfection.

-Sarah Ashley, 14 yrs old
this is about a time where i had a very bad night, and around 2am i snuck out of my house, only to sit in my driveway and stare at the stars. this was around october or november so it was pretty cold outside.
