As the ochre streamed from his wrist,
he thought of lips that he had kissed

Of hearts he'd broke, girls caught lying,
years of joy and anger and crying,

Calloused hearts and softened hands,
the interesting ones now seem so bland,

Clarity sweeps through his brain,
it'll be over as its all the same,

How foolish it seems to bleed so hard,
for girls who were never in his heart.
