sleeping alone

It occurred to me as I lie down to sleep

It hit me- I as alone

As were you, hours away in a cold place

The rain beat against my windows

And I craved your touch

Your skin against mine

Your lips on my cheek

I needed you here

At that moment

But the storm calmed down,

Though I feared there was more to come

I thought back to my favorite nights

They are ones spent with you

In your arms

I know whilst there

Wrapped tight- nothing can go wrong

You are my shield, my rock

My proctection

And now I am alone

Baby, soon come home
