Feb 2017
no words were exchanged with mouths or vocal cords but instead with glances from across the room
we felt each other staring
eyeballs practically glued
to the backs of each other's head
to everyone else, neither of us wanted to be here but truth be told I couldn't think of anything else besides us inching towards each other
our feet moving on their own
me slipping into your arms like we've done this before
but all we'll ever get to
is a glance and a stare
nothing more than thoughts locked away
maybe we should've
then again
maybe it was better we didn't
