I trusted you

For years I put my faith in you

I believed you when you only said one more time

When you said he doesn’t mean it

When you said I wasn’t worth it

When you said I was just another mouth to feed

When you said it’d be easier without me

When you said you wish I were like the other kids

When you said you’d pay me back

When you said you didn’t trust me

When you said I deserved what I got

When you said I was too sensitive

When you said I was ungrateful

When you said I was fat

When you said I’d end up alone

When you said I wasn’t smart enough

When you said I shouldn’t be wearing that

When you said you could see my cellulite

When you said are you sure you should eat that

When you said you’d put locks on the kitchen cabinets

When you asked if I liked how that felt

When you said you’re saving me from him

When you said you couldn’t leave him

When you said I didn’t try hard enough

When you said that I was overreacting

When you said it was my fault
